This is a hands-on making workshop in which participants create a 1970s-inspired sculptural object in clay. The outcome will function as a vase or small decorative lamp-like form. Works will be bisque fired and returned to participants for collection at Northart Gallery.
All material supplied: clay, tools, slips/underglazes
Firing included (kiln time and managed by the artists and gallery)
Suitable for beginners; no prior experience required
Learning Outcomes:
Constructing 70’s-inspired sculptural forms
Basic hand-building techniques
Surface texturing and retro-style detailing
Understanding drying and firing processes
Session times:
AM - 10am - 12.30pm
PM - 1.30pm - 4pm
Lamp/Vase Collection
Saturday 1st August, 1pm -4pm. Bisque fired artworks returned to workshop participants (unless an alternative time has been confirmed prior with individuals).
