Individual + A Day at Gibbs Farm

Join the Northart whānau for an unforgettable day at Gibbs Farm sculpture park, and renew or purchase your Northart membership at the same time:

Thursday 21 November, 10am - 2pm

Join Jessica Pearless and Jonathan Organ, Co-Directors of NORTHART on Thursday 21 November for a guided art tour of Gibbs Farm.This will bean unforgettable day at a world-renowned sculpture park. Your visit will help us to raise much needed-funds for NORTHART.

The guided tour starts promptly at 10am and finishes at 2pm.

The celebrated Gibbs Farm rests on 400 hectares of re-formed farmland on the Kaipara Harbour. The privately owned park is home to an internationally renowned collection of large-scale sculptures by some of the world’s leading artists, commissioned and curated by Alan Gibbs over the past 30 years.

TRAVEL & PARKING:

BY CAR: We strongly recommend carpooling to ease congestion at the gate and reduce the impact on the environment.

Please access Gibbs Farm via the main entrance (2421 Kaipara Coast Highway) to minimise traffic congestion etc. 

TERRAIN: The terrain is hilly and steep. A full circuit around Gibbs Farm is a 3-4 hour walk on both grass and the paved pathway and you can expect to walk 6-7km over the course of the day. There are large ponds and lakes across the site and children will need to be supervised. There are also various animals at several locations on the property.

ESSENTIALS:

The weather is changeable so be prepared for all conditions and be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a hat, sunblock, water and wet weather gear. The day will continue rain or shine.

LUNCH & COFFEE: Pack your own picnic lunch.

FACILITIES: Basic portaloo facilities are available in various locations on site as well as a purpose built multi-unit accessible facility at the Giraffe House.

TICKETS: Make sure you have proof of purchase and it is ready to present at the gate. There is NO WIFI so you will not be able to download it on-site. This will speed up entry and you’ll have more time to enjoy the farm.

All tickets are Non-transferable’.

Gibbs Farm is a multiple hazard area – persons entering this property must comply with all safety regulations under the Health & Safety in Employment Act 1992.

  • Please adhere to all signage.

  • Gibbs Farm contains a variety of animals that roam freely. Please do not feed or chase them.

  • No animals or domestic pets are allowed…. believe it or not this includes dogs.

  • Please do not climb on or into any sculptures.

  • Please remove all rubbish.

  • Alcohol is not permitted.

  • Photography is allowed.

  • Access to all artworks is by foot, unless prior arrangements have been made with the Farm Manager.

  • Visits are not weather dependent.

  • Good walking shoes are necessary as the farm is a 3-4 hour walking experience.

Gibbs Farm is a private property open by appointment only. There is no entry fee applicable when visiting Gibbs Farm.
